About Pichler Ziegel Aschach
The Martin Pichler Ziegelwerk GmbH in Aschach an der Donau (Upper Austria) produces bricks for masonry and ceilings as well as concrete precast parts. The product programme includes standard bricks, plan bricks, lintels, grate and facing bricks, clay slab ceilings, concrete C 20/25 element ceilings as well as the concrete-core-activated PIA heating and cooling ceiling with factory-installed pipe registers (in cooperation with REHAU). In addition, the company produces the patented, purely mineral PIA ROLLmörtel (cement, sand, lime with textile-glass reinforcement) as well as the mineral insulation material PIA TS-Sand. Brick production is carried out with mechanical raw material preparation (soaking house), drying in the chamber dryer and firing in the ring kiln; the plan brick line has been characterised by industrial robots since 2007–2012. Customers are residential and commercial construction as well as the building materials trade; additionally offered are construction consulting, laying and installation of the ceiling systems.

Materials & Processes
Clay/loam
Raw material of brick production, historically extracted directly behind the plant.
Concrete C 20/25
Concrete grade of the element and heating/cooling ceilings at the precast plant.
Cement, sand, lime
Purely mineral raw materials of the patented PIA ROLLmörtel.
PIA TS-Sand (mineral insulation material)
High thermal insulating, hydrophobic, non-combustible insulation material for filling critical connection zones (λ = 0.046 W/mK).
Textile glass
Reinforcement of the ROLLmörtel in the longitudinal direction for protection against crack formation.
