About Martinrea Honsel
Martinrea Honsel Germany GmbH (formerly Honsel AG) is a globally active supplier of lightweight metal components headquartered in Meschede. The company develops and produces aluminium products using all common casting and rolling manufacturing processes for engines, transmissions, chassis and body of passenger and commercial vehicles. In addition, there are products for mechanical engineering and other applications. Manufacturing comprises aluminium and magnesium permanent mould casting, die casting, rolling of aluminium as well as extrusion of aluminium profiles; complementarily, tool and mould making at the Nuttlar site is part of the value chain. The company has been producing core engine blocks and transmission housings in magnesium alloy for decades. Founded in 1908 by Fritz Honsel and part of Martinrea International Inc. since 2011, Martinrea Honsel employs around 4,100 people in ten plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and China. The components reduce vehicle weight, fuel consumption and emissions.
