Metal processing and mechanical engineering since 1901
MARX – Maschinen- und Apparatebau GmbH is a family-run business in Nistertal in the Westerwald region, founded in 1901 and now in its fourth generation. With 15 qualified specialists, the company realizes individual customer projects to drawing and manufactures both one-off pieces and series. Production comprises machining on CNC and conventional lathes and milling machines including a 4th axis, chipless sheet metal working with shears, bending, sawing, rolling and plasma cutting, as well as certified welding by electrode (E-Hand), MIG/MAG and TIG (WIG). In addition, rotating parts with weights up to 3 tonnes are balanced. Materials processed include mild steel, fine-grained structural steels, stainless steels, duplex and super duplex steels, Inconel, Hastelloy and titanium. Customers are found in mechanical engineering, ventilation and fan technology, textile machinery, machine tool manufacturing and conveying systems. Deliveries are made throughout Germany and worldwide.

Materials and processes
Mild steel
Basic material for sheet metal working, steel construction and welded fabrications up to 16 mm sheet thickness when shearing.
Fine-grained structural steels
High-strength materials for demanding welded fabrications in mechanical engineering.
Stainless steels
Corrosion-resistant components up to 12 mm sheet thickness when shearing.
Heat-resistant stainless steels
For components at elevated operating temperatures, e.g. burners and compressors.
Duplex and super duplex steels
Highly corrosion-resistant and high-strength materials for demanding apparatus engineering components.
Inconel
Nickel-based alloy for parts exposed to temperature and corrosion.
Hastelloy
Nickel alloy for components under extremely corrosive media conditions.
Titanium
Light, corrosion-resistant material for special applications, welded by TIG (WIG).
Electrode (E-Hand) welding
Manual arc welding for steel constructions in the certified welding shop.
MIG/MAG welding
Gas-shielded welding for productive joining tasks on steel and stainless steel.
TIG (WIG) welding
Precise welding process for stainless steel, titanium, Inconel and Hastelloy.
