Maschinentechnik Roth GmbH & Co. KG, based in Hilden, has been serving the steel and rolling mill industry for nearly five decades. The company develops and builds special machinery and plants both for plant operators and in cooperation with globally active plant engineering companies. A key focus is telescopic equipment on standard excavators, further developed together with the service provider Schaumann GmbH, Duisburg, for use in the hot area of steelworks. The telescopic superstructures use standard excavator technology including hydraulics, feature telescopes driven by hydraulic cylinders with a stroke of typically 4,000 mm, a slewing boom in triangular design and an oil-cooled special tool cylinder. In addition to design and construction, the scope of services includes dimensioning the machines to the respective carrier vehicle according to customer requirements.
