About mateligent

mateligent GmbH, headquartered in Saarbrücken, develops and produces custom mechatronic systems based on intelligent materials such as shape memory alloys (SMA) and dielectric elastomers (DE). The company has its roots at the iMSL (intelligent Material Systems Lab) and, over the past 20 years and in more than 100 bilateral research projects, has laid the foundations for systems, sensors and actuators made from intelligent materials. The portfolio includes SMA-based actuator systems with energy savings of over 90 % in automation, pneumatics-free drives, indestructible printed silicone-based sensors as well as elastocaloric machines for climate technology. Around 100 active patents accompany the technology development. Series production of intelligent systems for industry, medicine and automotive takes place at the subsidiaries mateligent nititec GmbH and mateligent iDEAS GmbH along lean management processes and based on customer quality requirements.
