About MPA Eberswalde
The Materialprüfanstalt Brandenburg GmbH (MPA Eberswalde) is an independent testing laboratory located on the Forest Campus of the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde. It provides testing, monitoring and certification services for wood and wood-based materials, wood preservatives and biocidal products, and building materials. Its range of services includes biological efficacy testing of wood preservatives using recognised mycological and entomological methods, chemical analysis including emission and leaching tests (formaldehyde, VOC according to EPA TSCA Title VI, CARB, AgBB and Décret n° 2011-321) as well as physical-mechanical testing of wood and wood-based materials. In addition, MPA carries out structural investigations and wood protection expert reports, grades structural timber according to DIN 4074, tests according to the IPPC standard ISPM No. 15 and certifies timber construction products such as structural sawn timber, glulam and laminated veneer lumber. Its non-destructive investigation methods include ultrasound, computed tomography and resistography. The laboratory is accredited under DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, is a notified body under the EU Construction Products Regulation and is a PÜZ body recognised by the German Institute of Building Technology (DIBt).
