About us
Mathias Wüthrich Schreinerhandwerk is a sole proprietorship in Frümsen in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley that manufactures individually planned, designed and handcrafted single-piece solid wood furniture. The offering is complemented by interior fitting – from wardrobes to kitchens and bathrooms through to complete room shells with ceilings, floors, walls, windows and doors – as well as complete renovations of older, often heritage-protected buildings, including planning, organisation and coordination of the trades. The materials used are primarily regional solid woods such as oak, ash, elm, walnut and old-growth spruce, combined with steel, glass, leather and linoleum; in interior fitting also clay, lime and stone. The woods are cut, dried and stored at forestry operations and sawmills in the region. Surfaces are finished naturally, sanded, brushed, lacquered, oiled, veneered or steamed. Using traditional craftsmanship and modern machines and methods, one-of-a-kind pieces are created to customer measurements – from consultation through design and technical drawings to on-site assembly, project-managed by owner Mathias Wüthrich, cabinetmaker with Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) and certified technician HF in wood technology.
