About matriq
matriq AG was founded in October 2019 in St. Gallen as a spin-off of the University of Applied Sciences Buchs NTB (today Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences OST, Buchs campus). The core of the company is the patented DynamicMold technology for marking and coding plastic parts directly during the injection molding process. Without additives, additional process steps, or handling robots, each injection mold is given an individual marking — for example a serial number or a time code accurate to the second in the form of an ECC200 12x12 DataMatrix code. The DM-qode Gen 1 system used comprises an insert placed in the tool, a controller mounted on the tool for up to four inserts, the central LinQ control unit with an OPC-UA interface, and a tablet for operation. In this way, matriq enables traceability and tamper-proof product protection for the plastics processing industry. The offices are located in the Switzerland Innovation Park OST in the Startfeld innovation center in St. Gallen.
