About Mattern Neon
Mattern Neon is a specialised craft business from Berlin that has been producing light advertising, illuminated signs and 3D letters for over 30 years. The portfolio includes illuminated letters and channel letters in neon and LED technology, non-illuminated individual letters made of acrylic or metal, illuminated boxes, sign boxes, backlit panels, advertising pylons, projecting signs (Ausstecker) as well as company signs and information systems. Production is exclusively custom-made as one-offs according to design and typography requirements; materials include acrylic glass, metal, painted aluminium, tension fabric and neon glass. The value chain ranges from graphic drafts and 1:1 glass bending drawings, through constructive technical drawings, to storm-safe installation on facades and roofs as well as commissioning. In addition, the company reconstructs historic advertising installations in a heritage-compliant manner, carries out neon repairs, LED conversions and complete refurbishments, and takes on maintenance and cleaning. It also prepares the documentation required for building permit procedures. Well-known projects include the heritage-compliant reconstruction of the neon lettering of the HOTEL ZOO and the neon lettering project GRACE GARDEN.
