About matterr

matterr GmbH develops and operates a depolymerisation technology for the chemical recycling of PET. Complex, mixed PET waste streams – including polyester textile blends and multilayer packaging – are broken down into their molecular building blocks and regenerated into virgin-quality monomers. These monomers are a drop-in solution: chemically identical to virgin material and integrable into existing PET production facilities without any adjustment to processes or infrastructure. The continuous process runs at moderate temperatures with high selectivity and processes input streams with up to 20 % non-PET content. Target groups are waste management companies, PET manufacturers and the textile industry. The company is based in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony.
