Steel construction for the energy transition – from a single source
Matthäi Stahlbau GmbH (until June 2026 Stahlbau Oberlausitz GmbH) manufactures custom steel constructions with a focus on technical steelwork for substations and power plant construction. Together with its subsidiary Matthäi Engineering (formerly Techno-Engineering D GmbH) in Dresden, the company provides planning, project engineering, structural calculations, shop drawings and bills of materials from a single source. At the Ebersbach-Neugersdorf site, the steel components are custom-fabricated in the plant, complemented by in-house pre-assembly, welding, on-site assembly and final paint coating on the construction site. The portfolio includes substation constructions, crane runway and hall construction, scaffolding and platforms, staircases and pipe bridges, roof lights as well as new-build and reconstruction steel structures. The company, with 132 employees, is part of the Matthäi Group based in Verden (active for over 90 years, around 3,500 employees at more than 75 locations) and serves customers in Germany.

Materials and processes
Steel
Structural steel for steel structures in power plant construction, hall and industrial construction.
Welding
Joining of steel constructions; position and thickness of weld seams are optimized depending on the construction.
In-plant pre-assembly
Pre-assembly in the plant reduces assembly time and overall costs on the construction site.
Paint coating
Final coating of the construction directly on the construction site.
