MAYEKAWA Europe NV is the European division of the Mayekawa Group, founded in Brussels in 1971 by the Tokyo-based group established in 1924. The plant in Zaventem near Brussels Airport produces reciprocating and screw refrigeration compressors as well as CE-PED and GOST standard units, and develops custom gas compression systems and special systems for chemical plants. The portfolio also includes adsorption chillers, heat pumps, special freezing facilities and meat deboning robots such as TORIDAS, TAKIDAS and HAMDAS-R. The systems predominantly use natural refrigerants such as ammonia and CO2 as well as helium for special applications; in 2022 the company was named by ATMOsphere as a Best-in-Class manufacturer of natural refrigerant solutions. Customers include CERN, for which the world's largest helium compression system was delivered in 1999, as well as operators from refrigeration technology, chemicals, food processing and winter sports facilities. With offices in 14 countries, Mayekawa serves Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and Oceania.
