About Mayr Faserverbundtechnik
Mayr Faserverbundtechnik GmbH in Rosenheim develops and manufactures components made of fibre-reinforced plastics, with a focus on carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The range of services includes needs analysis and FEM calculation, 3D-CAD design, in-house toolmaking, prototype construction and series production from individual parts to high volumes. Carbon, glass and aramid fibres are processed with epoxy, phenolic, polyamide or silicone resin systems, among other methods by hand lay-up, filament winding and prepreg lay-up technique for hot pressing or autoclave. Metallic load introduction elements are machined to precise dimensions by CNC. Customers include companies from medical technology, mechanical engineering, metrology, aerospace, vehicle engineering, automation technology and the chemical industry, including Dornier MedTech, MTU Aero Engines, Siemens, Porsche and Zeiss. Since June 2019 the company has been producing at the Am Oberfeld 23 site with around 300 m² of office space and over 4000 m² of production space.

Materials and Processes
Carbon fibres (CFRP)
Core material of the company for highly stiff, fatigue-resistant components with high X-ray transparency.
Glass fibres (GFRP)
Fibre-reinforced plastic for applications with requirements for strength and cost-effectiveness.
Aramid fibres
Synthetic fibre for components with high requirements for strength and damping.
Epoxy resin
Common matrix system for high-performance composites.
Phenolic resin
Matrix system where higher heat deflection resistance is required.
Polyamide resin
Matrix system for increased heat deflection resistance.
Silicone resin
Matrix system for applications with elevated temperature requirements.
Hand lay-up process
Processing of the fibres as fabric or rovings in a wet process.
Filament winding
Fibre winding process, among others with carbon and glass fibres with epoxy resin.
Prepreg lay-up technique
Laying of prepregs in press tools for hot pressing or autoclaves.
