About mcd - modern camera designs
mcd - modern camera designs GmbH, based in Jena, supports customers with innovative miniaturized imaging systems from concept to production, from individual components to complex assemblies. The company manufactures replicated aspherical polymer lenses from master structures and also develops custom optics based on glass lenses, polymer-on-glass systems (wafer level optics) as well as illumination optics. In its own lens manufacturing process, lenses are replicated, AR-coated and assembled into systems; quality control and performance characterization take place at all levels from component to system. The replication technology enables imaging aspherical polymer lenses with an optimized cost structure for small and medium volumes, thereby bridging the gap between single-piece manufacturing (diamond turning) and high-volume injection molding. Fields of application include machine vision, automotive and medical endoscopy; the team has been working in the design, manufacture and testing of such imaging optics for more than 15 years.
