About McGard Deutschland
McGard Deutschland GmbH, headquartered in Nordheim (Baden-Württemberg), develops and manufactures anti-theft security systems: wheel locks (wheel lock sets, wheel bolts, wheel nuts), security products for marine applications and custom-specification industrial high-security parts. The company belongs to the McGard Group with around 700 employees worldwide and, since 1977, has supplied nearly all automobile manufacturers in the OEM business, as well as wholesalers, workshop chains and end customers in the retrofit market. Manufacturing uses through-hardened steel and hardened stainless steel including heat treatment, chrome/nickel plating, powder coating and laser engraving; marine products are additionally made from corrosion-resistant brass. Industrial high-security parts secure telecommunications equipment, manhole covers, meters and access control systems – customers include Deutsche Telekom, Siemens AG, airports and the Louvre Museum. McGard OEM products meet the security standards of motor insurers such as Thatcham Cat.4. Since 1994, McGard Deutschland GmbH has been responsible for the European market and covers the value chain from development through manufacturing to logistics and customer service, including a replacement key service.

Materials & Processes
through-hardened steel
Base material of the wheel locks, wheel nuts and wheel bolts; through-hardened and tempered for homogeneous hardness.
hardened stainless steel
Used for OEM products (e.g. Cadillac hubcap lock) and marine sterndrive and propeller locks due to corrosion resistance.
Brass (corrosion-resistant)
Material for marine propeller locks for outboard motors and sterndrives.
Heat treatment (through-hardening and tempering)
Ensures homogeneous hardness across the entire cross-section of the security elements.
Chrome/nickel plating
Multi-layer surface for corrosion protection and shine on wheel bolts and wheel nuts.

Quality
Regular quality audits by vehicle manufacturers and external institutions ensure the highest possible quality standards. An in-house quality assurance laboratory (expanded in 2020) safeguards manufacturing quality along the process from sorting through testing to warehousing.
