Cable and pipe transit systems (Brattberg system) for fire-resistant, pressure-tight and gas-tight sealing

MCT BRATTBERG Vertriebs-GmbH
Messel (DE) · Karlskrona (SE)New on Amplifa
Cable and pipe sealing to the highest safety requirements
The MCT Brattberg system is a modular cable and pipe transit developed to the most stringent requirements for fire protection (DIN 4102-9), pressure tightness, gas tightness, explosion protection and EMC. At its core it consists of two components – a frame and the packing and filler pieces – which together form a multifunctional seal through the generated compression pressure. The original manufacturing takes place at MCT Brattberg AB in Karlskrona (Sweden); MCT BRATTBERG Vertriebs-GmbH, based in Messel, is the official sales partner for the German-speaking region and offers frame supply, accessories as well as professional final installation by trained personnel. The range of services includes standard, EMC and ATEX special versions, tender support including the preparation of tender texts, and the web-based configuration software RGPlan for specialist planners. Depending on requirements, frames are available with anti-corrosion primer, hot-dip galvanized, or made of stainless steel V2A/V4A or aluminium. References include Amprion, Tennet, Gasunie, TAL, Uniper, BMW, NATO Air Base Wittmund, WNA Kiel Canal, DLR and Bayerischer Rundfunk. The system is used in the energy industry, shipbuilding, offshore, the automotive industry, waterways, research and communications.

History since 1759
- 1759
Lyckeåborg in southern Sweden designated as a site for the construction of a copper hammer.
- 1945
After the Second World War the company receives the name Lyckeåborgs Bruk.
- 1950
Lyckeåborg becomes the manufacturer of the MCT Brattberg cable and pipe transit (named after inventor Nils Brattberg); specialization in fire-resistant and pressure-tight sealing begins.
- 1970
Introduction of the round RGP frame, initially for core-drilled holes in concrete.
- 1980
End of nail manufacturing; resources concentrated on MCT Brattberg products.
- 1986
Lyckeåborgs Bruk becomes Lycab; introduction of Lycron rubber for insert blocks and of the composite compression plate with integrated compression bolt.
- 1994
Pre-greased blocks come onto the market.
- 1997
Introduction of the AddBlock (universal block).
- 1999
U-blocks and plugs come onto the market; the company becomes MCT Brattberg AB.
