About MEDION
MEDION GmbH, headquartered in Essen, is a German company that designs, assembles and distributes electronic products. The product range includes PC and multimedia products such as computers, notebooks, televisions and monitors, consumer electronics such as audio systems, internet radios and Bluetooth speakers, communication technology such as tablets and smartphones, as well as household appliances such as kitchen machines, refrigerators and washing machines. The company was founded in 1983 as Brachmann & Linnemann OHG, went public in 1998 and was majority-acquired by the Chinese electronics group Lenovo in 2011; in 2025 the full takeover followed, with delisting and the spin-off of major parts into the newly founded medion GmbH. In addition to build-to-order manufacturing, MEDION offers services such as the mobile discount provider MEDIONmobile (Aldi Talk), the photo service Aldi Foto and, since 2020, a cloud gaming service. Customers are primarily large retail chains such as Aldi in Europe and Australia, as well as further chains in Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Denmark and Italy.
