About the master workshop
The master workshop for mechanical clocks run by Thomas Deckert in Düsseldorf-Lörick specialises in the repair, conservation and restoration of mechanical clocks – from the modern wristwatch to the historic period clock. A particular focus lies on antique clocks older than 100 years, including tall-case clocks with spring or weight-driven movements. The work comprises disassembling the clock movements into individual parts, reworking them and reassembling them. The family business is run by master clockmaker Thomas Deckert together with his father Bernd Deckert. Customers come from Düsseldorf, the surrounding region, the Ruhr area and large parts of North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2001, the family has also run a Comtoise clock museum with pendulum clocks more than 200 years old from the Franche-Comté region, which can be viewed at the workshop.
