About Melaplast
Melaplast GmbH, headquartered in Schweinfurt, is a manufacturer of decorative and technical laminates based on melamine resin. As one of the first companies worldwide, it began production of CPL laminates (Continuous Pressure Laminate) using a continuous endless process in 1976. The product portfolio comprises flat laminates in thicknesses from 0.15 to 1.5 mm and widths up to 2,100 mm (sheet and roll goods) as well as multilayer edging from 0.3 to 2.0 mm thickness starting at 13 mm width. Raw materials processed include cellulose, glass fiber mats, plastic films, aluminum and cotton fabric; special laminates contain genuine aluminum inserts, glass fiber inserts, vapor barriers, antistatic or antibacterial properties. The products are used, among others, in the furniture, kitchen and door industries, in profile wrapping, in shopfitting and interior finishing, and in the caravan, marine and aerospace industries. Individual customer-specific developments and special builds such as honeycomb elements or 3D-formable seat shells complement the range.
