About Menzerna
Menzerna develops and produces solid polishing compounds, polishing emulsions as well as car and boat polishes for industry and trade. The family business, founded in 1888 and headquartered in Ötigheim (district of Rastatt), supplies more than 200 active formulations to industries such as automotive suppliers, fittings industry, household goods, furniture, musical instruments, jewellery and watches, electronics as well as boat and caravan. In addition to its product business, Menzerna is a process partner for industrial companies: with the Fingerprint process, a technical centre with a robot cell, process and formulation development, cost optimisation, investment consulting and laboratory services, the company optimises its customers' polishing and grinding processes. Polishes for automotive clear coats are a pillar of the business; more than half of production is exported, to a total of 70 countries. Products are formulated without silicones and fillers. Manufacturing takes place as complex batch production on systems developed over decades and continuously modernised; in the laboratory, Menzerna works with state-of-the-art measuring and preparation technology.

Quality
Menzerna works according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and VDA 6.4 as well as according to its own quality policy with supplier audits, continuous system updates and transparent management systems. In its own laboratory, gloss and material removal measurements as well as benchmarks are carried out; the Fingerprint process measures Ra, Rz and Rmax on standardised samples.

History
- 1888
Founded by Friedrich Menzer in Pforzheim; first polishing compounds for precious metals, customers in the local watch and jewellery industry.
- 1918–1945
Expansion of the product range of Chemische Fabrik Friedrich Menzer to metal-processing companies; purchase of the company by Ludwig Burkart in the 1920s.
- 1945–1995
Under Dr. Walter Burkart, scientific methods are introduced; construction of barrel polishing machines; one of the first suppliers of liquid polishing agents in Germany; export share over 50 %.
- 1995–heute
Relocation of the site to Ötigheim, renewal and automation of production facilities; polishes for automotive clear coats become a pillar of the business.
