The Company
Since 1925, Messerfabrik Neuenkamp GmbH has manufactured high-precision cutting tools for length-slitting, cross-cutting and edge-trimming lines. The product range includes circular slitter knives including carbide knives, stripper rings, spacer rings, separator tools, plastic side-shims, edge-strip choppers as well as long knives and cross-cut knives up to 6,000 mm in length. Production uses forged tool steels and high-speed steels, powder-metallurgical high-performance steels, special materials and sintered, hot isostatically post-compacted carbide; heat treatment is carried out in process-controlled hardening furnaces. Standard tolerances are +/- 0.001 mm, ultra-precision tolerances are +/- 0.0005 mm. Fields of application include steel in the hot and cold strip sector, non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, brass and copper, electrical steel for transformers, and battery foils for electromobility. In addition to new manufacturing, the company offers regrinding service, recoating, tool handling, tool optimisation and seminars. The plant in Hückeswagen, completed in 2019, offers 3,500 m² of production space. Neuenkamp belongs to the DIENES Group and is represented by distributors in around 30 countries.

Materials and Processes
Tool steel (alloyed/high-alloyed, forged)
Base material for circular slitter knives, stripper rings, spacer rings and separator tools in through-hardened versions.
High-speed steel
Material for circular slitter knives with long service life.
Powder-metallurgical high-performance steels
Finest grain sizes for the most extreme requirements, e.g. for electrical steel (silicon strip).
Carbide (sintered, HIP post-compacted)
For carbide circular slitter knives with maximum wear resistance and ±0.001 mm tolerance.
Neuenkamp special materials
Developed for optimised service life when cutting stainless grades.
Perbunan / polyurethane coating
Rubber coating of stripper rings in various colours and Shore hardnesses, swell-resistant for non-ferrous metals.
Polyamide / hard plastic
For separator tools, super-light spacer rings and side-shims with widths from 0.012 to 1.50 mm.
Stainless steel
For corrosion-resistant spacer rings.
Heat treatment
Process-controlled hardening furnaces, hardness matched to the respective application.
Lapping with special lapping compound additives
Achieves minimal surface roughness, especially for electrical steel.
