About Metalltechnik Menges GmbH

Metalltechnik Menges GmbH has been active in the field of chipless forming for over 30 years and specialises in the rotary swaging (hammer process) and radial forging processes. In rotary swaging, tubes, bars and other rotationally symmetrical workpieces are precisely formed – in feed and infeed rotary swaging as well as in combined form. As an incremental forming process in the cold, semi-hot and hot ranges, radial forging enables the production of complex workpiece contours, including combined axial-radial forming. The company manufactures production parts from prototypes and pre-series and small series through to large series, as well as single-piece gap filling in the event of production failures. In addition, Metalltechnik Menges offers process development, production part design and surface finishing – including the production of smooth inner surfaces of tubes. The machine fleet is versatile and coordinated with one another; all production takes place at one site in Gau-Algesheim. Customers are found in industries such as drive technology, the automotive industry, e-mobility, mechanical and plant engineering, medical and dental technology, aerospace engineering, metrology and control technology, the furniture industry and sporting firearms technology.

Materials and Processes

Rundkneten

Rotary swaging (feed and infeed rotary swaging)

Precise chipless forming process for tubes, bars and other rotationally symmetrical workpieces with short machining times, tight tolerances, uninterrupted grain flow and material savings.

Radialschmieden

Radial forging

Incremental forming process in the cold, semi-hot and hot ranges for complex workpiece contours without temperature or material restrictions.

Axial-Radialumformen

Combined axial-radial forming

Process combination of radial forging for particularly versatile contour designs.

Oberflächenveredelun

Surface finishing

Production of inner surfaces of tubes with low roughness (Ra < 0.2) and a high bearing ratio (> 85%).
