METAX Kupplungs- und Dichtungstechnik GmbH was founded in 1985 in Schöneck and is a family-run specialist for the rotary sealing of machinery in plant engineering and process technology. Core products are application-specific mechanical seals in component and cartridge designs, associated supply systems according to API 682, radial shaft lip seal systems, flexible packing systems (RaXa), rotary feedthroughs, preloaded seals and all-steel lamina couplings. The portfolio is complemented by patented sensor technology based on SAW ultrasound, with which lubricating film, temperature and vibrations can be monitored directly in the sealing gap, enabling predictive maintenance and IIoT solutions. At its headquarters in Hungen-Obbornhofen, the company operates its own machining production with high-precision metrology and analysis equipment as well as an extensive warehouse; the in-house design department produces custom designs from one-off pieces through to series production. The offering is rounded out by manufacturer-independent failure analyses, repairs, training and technical maintenance products (PTFE sealing tapes, lubricants, cleaners). Customers come from industries such as pump and machinery manufacturing, refineries and petrochemicals, power plants, paper and printing machinery, the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as vacuum technology.
