MST Group Competencies
Micro Systems Technologies Management GmbH (MST), headquartered in Berlin, is a group of technology companies that has been developing and manufacturing Class-3 medical electronics and complete solutions for active implantable medical devices (AIMD) for over 40 years. The portfolio includes miniaturized microelectronics assemblies and semiconductor packaging (System in Package), LTCC ceramic substrates for RF and microwave applications, hermetic metal-glass feedthroughs, and Nitinol components with processes such as precision laser cutting (cutting widths from 15 µm, tubes up to Ø 30 mm), micro blasting, electropolishing, electroplated gold coating, shape setting/annealing and chemical treatment. LITRONIK Batterietechnologie GmbH in Pirna has been manufacturing primary batteries based on lithium-iodine, lithium-manganese dioxide and lithium-carbon monofluoride for pacemakers, defibrillators and neurostimulators since 1990 – with laser-welded housings made of titanium or 1.4306, dry room production, a high degree of automation and MES-integrated processes that are 100% traceable. Services include design-for-manufacturing, system integration, validation and qualification according to Class-3 requirements as well as FDA submission support. The group supplies manufacturers of active implants in Europe, the USA and the Asia-Pacific region.
