About MICS Engineering and Inspection
MICS Engineering and Inspection GmbH is a technical service provider based in Mülheim an der Ruhr, operating since 2014 as the successor to MICS International GmbH. Its service portfolio includes worldwide technical acceptances and inspections of industrial plants and components, manufacturing surveillance and supplier qualification, expediting and schedule monitoring, as well as project management. For material identification (PMI/mix-up testing), an X-ray fluorescence analyzer (XRF, type X-MET7500) and a mobile spectral analysis device are used; stainless steels, aluminum, nickel, cobalt, copper and titanium alloys as well as tool steel are tested. Further testing methods include drone inspection, thermography and non-destructive testing (NDT). TÜV-certified competent persons perform recurring inspections of pressure vessels and piping in accordance with BetrSichV (German Industrial Safety Ordinance). Inspections are carried out, among other things, on piping construction (pipes, pipe bends, joints, weld seams), turbines, compressors, valves and pumps as well as on coatings. Through a worldwide network of inspectors and engineers, projects are supported, among others, in Brazil, the Congo, China and India; reporting is provided in German and English, in compliance with standards such as ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI, ISO, EN and DIN.

Materials & Testing Methods
X-ray Fluorescence Analysis (X-MET7500)
Non-destructive PMI mix-up testing of stainless steels, aluminum, nickel, cobalt, copper and titanium alloys as well as tool steel (elements Mg to U), without damage to the test object.
Mobile Spectral Analysis (Spark Spectrometer)
Complements XRF with elements such as carbon that cannot be detected by XRF.
Stainless Steels
Material identification in the context of PMI and incoming goods inspection.
Aluminum Alloys
Material identification in the context of PMI and incoming goods inspection.
