About us
MÖNCH Naturstein GmbH is a traditional stonemasonry and stone sculpture business based in Heidenau near Dresden. Founded in 1876 as a stonemasonry business by Hermann Becher at its current location, the company was taken over by Rudi Mönch in 1986, who continued the family business as a master craft enterprise. Its range of services covers all sculpture and stonemasonry work and natural stone restoration as well as structural stonework such as floor slabs, stair coverings, balustrades, natural stone walls, worktops and gravestones. In the restoration field, the company reconstructs loss of substance on sculptures and historic building components, produces faithful copies and new parts, manufactures precisely fitted natural stone replacement pieces, applies restoration mortars and carries out gentle stone and façade cleaning. The materials processed are primarily sandstone, marble and terrazzo, including in inlay work. Reference projects include the Semper Gallery, Semper Opera House, Playhouse, Military History Museum and Neptune Fountain in Dresden as well as the Kaisertrutz in Görlitz. As a specialist business of the stonemasons' and stone sculptors' guild, the company trains stonemasons.
