About MOTOR Ai
MOTOR Ai is an autonomous driving technology company founded in Berlin in 2017 that develops a fully in-house Level 4 autonomous driving stack. The system is based on the Active Inference framework and combines sensor fusion from redundant cameras, radar, LiDAR and GNSS with explainable, deductive decision-making architectures, making every driving decision traceable and certifiable. The AFGBV-certified driving system is used for fleet applications such as taxis, buses and ride-hailing services (mai FLEET). At the old Tegel Airport, the company operates its own workshop for vehicle integration, testing and adaptation; from the control centre in Berlin, Technical Supervisors monitor every trip in real time in accordance with German regulation. Projects include the DLR-led research project IMoGer, in which the Level 4 software powers the U-Shift vehicles. In 2025, MOTOR Ai received the official testing permit for autonomous vehicles in Germany.

Technologies & Processes
Autonomous Driving Stack (Level 4)
Complete software stack from perception to motion planning, certified according to AFGBV.
Deep Active Inference
Decision-making architecture based on cognitive principles that makes every driving decision explainable and traceable.
Sensor Fusion
Redundant combination of camera (4K, 120 Hz), LiDAR (200 m, 20 Hz), radar (300 m) and GNSS for a continuously updated 3D environment model.
Technical Supervision Platform
In-house monitoring platform that controls system states in real time and triggers a Minimal Risk Manoeuvre in case of deviations.
