About mta robotics
mta robotics is a Swiss company for automated soldering and dispensing systems with origins in the Swiss watchmaking industry around 60 years ago. Since the mid-1980s, the company has developed and manufactured soldering robots as well as complementary systems for volumetric dispensing. The product portfolio includes standalone soldering heads and dispensing heads, components, manual systems, semi-automated benchtop robots through to fully automated production cells, as well as a broad range of spare parts. In the field of dispensing, volumetric technologies such as piston pumps and eccentric screw pumps are used, which control volume and flow rate numerically. Materials processed include 1K and 2K silicones, 2K epoxy and 2K adhesives for applications such as bonding, sealing, potting and conformal coating. Typical industries are automotive, electronics, sensor technology, cable and connector technology as well as medical technology. In-house laboratories with specialized engineers offer process validation and proof of process for custom applications.

Materials & Processes
1K silicone
Used for sealing with silicone beads, e.g. on electronic assemblies.
2K silicone
Used for potting of electronic components.
2K epoxy
For globtop dispensing and conformal coating, e.g. in the sensor sector.
2K adhesive
Used for adhesive bonding, e.g. on coaxial RF connectors.
Soldering with iron
Standard process for solder joints on PCBs and terminals.
Induction soldering
For temperature-sensitive applications such as temperature sensors and RF connectors.
Laser soldering
Contactless soldering, e.g. for medical pressure sensors.
Selective soldering
Targeted soldering of selected solder joints on assemblies.
Volumetric dispensing (piston pump)
Mechanically defined, numerically controlled metering of material volume and rate.
Volumetric dispensing (eccentric screw pump)
Continuous material flow for a broad spectrum of 1K and 2K materials.

Quality & Process Validation
Specialized engineers carry out in-depth tests in their own laboratories and develop the appropriate soldering or dispensing method for each application. The result is a process validation that is handed over to the customer as a proof of process.
