About MWN Mineralwerke

MWN Mineralwerke is a manufacturer of fire-dried and sieve-classified special sands headquartered in Niemegk, Brandenburg. The company produces quartz sands, quartz gravels, special sands as well as coloured sands and coloured gravels made from processed natural raw materials with a SiO2 content of over 90 %. Processing takes place in modern facilities using the process steps of fire drying, dedusting, cooling and sieve classification; the mineral surfaces are optionally coloured. An in-house developed optimisation software calculates individual grading curves and formulations according to customer specifications and compensates for natural variations in raw material properties. A process control system operates the plants and ensures low variation in material properties. The main fields of application for the products are the building materials industry, construction chemistry and building refurbishment, coatings, the filter industry and water treatment, the chemical industry, landscaping and garden design, the sports and leisure sector, pet and zoo supplies as well as transport and winter services. In addition to product sales, MWN offers contract packaging and palletising of loose bulk goods.

Quartz (SiO2 > 90 %)

Main component of all special sands and gravels; chemical analysis according to DIN 51001 with SiO2 contents between 90.0 and 97.4 mass-% depending on grain size.

Quartz sand / special sand

Fire-dried, dedusted, cooled and sieve-classified; delivery grain sizes from 0.1–0.5 mm to 8–16 mm, free of harmful impurities and pH-neutral.

Quartz gravel

For concrete, mortar, filter construction and decorative gravel applications.

Coloured sand and coloured gravel

Produced by colouring natural sands and gravels; colours are abrasion-resistant and water-resistant, colour design and grain size according to customer requirements.
