About naion.tech

naion.tech GmbH is an Aachen-based startup that develops commercially available nanofiltration membranes into highly selective separation solutions through tailored surface functionalization. The membrane surfaces are functionalized using a versatile coating process so that they are adapted to the specific separation conditions of each process and achieve higher product purities than conventional membranes. Formulation development is accelerated by an AI-supported tool that determines the optimal coating for each use case. Industrially proven membrane modules are coated and used in modular filtration systems that can be integrated into existing process chains and adapted to changing capacity and regulatory requirements. Applications lie in the recovery of critical raw materials from wastewater streams as well as in water treatment and process engineering. The company is a university-based startup venture and is currently funded by the EXIST program. In addition to its business address on Richardstraße, naion.tech maintains an R&D site on Forckenbeckstraße in Aachen.
