About us – the natural stone manufactory since 1829
natursteinwolf GmbH & Co. KG is a natural stone manufactory from the Hanseatic city of Lübeck with more than 40 specialists, master stonemasons and technicians. At the Selmsdorf production plant, natural stone raw blocks weighing up to 25 t each are machined to order through to the finished product – with a focus on granite (around 90 % of products), as well as sandstone, marble, limestone, slate, quartz composite (Caesarstone, Silestone), thin ceramics (Dekton), concrete and basalt. Production combines state-of-the-art CNC machining technology (including a 5-axis machining centre CMS Brembana Maxima) with traditional stonemasonry techniques. Products can be found in building construction (staircases, window sills, kitchen worktops, façades), in landscaping, in civil engineering (market squares, promenades, road surfaces), in fountains and art objects, and in the cemetery sector. Using the FVO process, the company restores the slip resistance of natural stone surfaces in their installed state, including SRT measurement by a certified testing institute. Raw blocks are sourced directly from Scandinavia, Brazil, South Africa, Portugal, Italy, India, America and China.

Materials and processes
Granite
Core focus of machining and processing; around 90 % of products, in road construction, landscaping, building construction and the cemetery sector.
Limestone
Used for floor slabs, tiles, façades and staircases; traditionally also Öland stone and Gotland limestone.
Sandstone
Machining for monuments, fountain installations and restoration projects.
Marble
Processing for staircase systems, sculptural works and interior fit-out.
Slate (including Theuma slate)
Used, among other things, for water basins and fountain installations.
Basalt / Basalt lava
Used for block step systems, water walls and fountain stones.
Quartz composite (Caesarstone, Silestone)
Modern materials for kitchen worktops and vanity tops.
Dekton (thin ceramics) / ceramics
Large-format ceramic slabs, among other things as cut-to-size work for tilers.
Concrete
Cutting concrete block steps to length and drilling precast concrete elements for construction companies.
FVO process (surface)
Mobile restoration of slip resistance on installed natural stone surfaces, assessed via SRT values (0–100 Pa).

Quality and testing
Slip resistance is measured using the RT pendulum (Skid Resistance Tester); SRT values are confirmed by an accredited and certified testing institute. For Öland stone, project-specific quality standards (Extra, Business, Private) are defined.
