About Nexans Schweiz
Nexans Schweiz AG, headquartered in Cortaillod, develops and manufactures energy cables for power grids, infrastructure and industry. The portfolio comprises high-voltage and low-voltage/medium-voltage cables (including GKN+, GKN+ FLEX, XDALT), specialty cables such as the silicone rubber cable SIWO-KUL for wind turbines, motors, generators, shipbuilding and railways, as well as interlocking and balise cables, telecommunication and fiber-optic cables, and LV/MV and HV accessories such as plugs, terminations, joints and fixing clamps. In addition to manufacturing, the company offers engineering and technical pre-studies, cable sizing with EASYCALC, transport, installation, and diagnostics and testing; orders, documents and drum management are available digitally via eService. Materials include in particular copper and aluminium as conductors as well as plastics such as XLPE, PE, EPDM and silicone rubber. Customers include grid operators such as AXPO and Swissgrid; reference projects include the Grono cable project with AXPO and the planned high-voltage HV cable route in the Gotthard road tunnel with Swissgrid. The plant operates on 100 % renewable electricity; production has been centralized at the Cortaillod main plant since 2016.
