About Nexen Tire
Nexen Tire is a South Korean tire manufacturer founded in 1942 with headquarters in Yangsan, South Korea. The company produces tires for passenger cars, SUVs, light commercial vehicles, winter and racing applications as well as specifically for electric vehicles (EV Root technology), and supplies international vehicle manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia and others as an OE supplier. Tire production takes place at four production sites in Korea (Yangsan, Changnyeong), China (Qingdao/Laixi) and Europe. Development uses, among other things, a high-dynamic driving simulator (VR) and an AI-based tire performance system; the central research and development competence is the research center 'THE NEXEN univerCITY' in Seoul-Magok with around 600 employees. Materials are mainly natural rubber (sustainably certified as a GPSNR member) as well as silica high compounds based on the 4D compound technology. The company supplies more than 150 countries worldwide and maintains sales subsidiaries in Europe, North and South America, Australia and the Middle East, among others.
