About Non-Event
Non-Event is a Boston-based concert series presenting experimental, abstract, improvised and new music from New England and around the world. The organization supports and promotes the experimental music scene in the greater Boston area by introducing emerging artists as well as established but under-recognized musicians in appropriate contexts and by building connections between different artistic scenes and audiences. Since its founding in 2001, more than 500 concerts and programs have been held with local, national and international artists — in cafés, record stores, galleries, loft spaces, parks, lecture halls, museums, nightclubs, 19th-century ballrooms, a Victorian pumping station and Boston City Hall. Non-Event collaborates with numerous partners, including the Goethe-Institut Boston, the MIT List Visual Arts Center and the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture. The organization is tax-exempt as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
