About Nordland Electronics
Nordland Electronics is a sole proprietorship owned by Kai Tachibana based in Ecklak (Schleswig-Holstein), producing handcrafted overdrive effect pedals for guitar. The devices are made by hand: electronics assembly, hand soldering, and testing and measurement of every single unit, including selection of diodes on an in-house characteristic-curve tracer test bench. Used components include, among others, aluminium enclosures from Hammond, gold-plated Cliff jacks, ENIG gold-plated PCBs, 1% metal film resistors, film capacitors from Wima, Epcos and Kemet, as well as silicon and NOS germanium diodes. Owner Kai Tachibana has been developing electronic devices for the music industry for over 40 years, including the ODR-1 overdrive developed for Nobels in 1992 as well as developments for Fender, Shadow Electronics and Tronical (automatic tuning systems for Gibson). Sales are made directly via the company's own online shop; EU-wide shipping is temporarily suspended due to the EU Packaging Regulation PPWR.

Components and Processes
Germanium diodes (NOS)
NOS germanium diodes with a softer curve, individually selected on a characteristic-curve tracer, shape the sound of the ODR-CS.
Silicon diodes
Classic overdrive principle (soft clipping) in the overdrive stage.
CMOS/MosFet (CA3260 Mos-OpAmp)
No longer manufactured Mos-OpAmp chip, sound-defining in the MT-11 Mosland Overdrive.
Aluminium (Hammond 1590N1)
Closed aluminium enclosure from Hammond Mfg. (UK) as shielding against hum and EMI.
ENIG gold-plated PCBs
Screwed-down circuit boards with double gold-plated contacts between the main and control boards.
