NORKA is a solutions provider founded in 1948 for technical lighting under difficult environmental conditions. The company manufactures water- and dust-protected LED luminaires with high IP protection ratings (IP65 to IP68, optionally IP69K) and high mechanical resistance (IK04 to IK10) for industry, railway and tunnel lighting, water management and other sectors. The product range comprises around 4,000–4,500 standard luminaires as well as customer-specific special luminaires developed in the company's own laboratory. Production takes place exclusively at the plant in Dörverden-Hülsen on the company's own production facilities, including its own encapsulation technology with a climate room for particularly protected luminaires. Housing materials are corrosion-resistant against sewage gases, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide; for drinking water applications, luminaires according to the KTW assessment basis are offered. In addition, NORKA offers the XARA® light control system, LED retrofitting of existing luminaires (RENOKIT), and comprehensive service from lighting design to maintenance.

The luminaires are designed for extreme environmental conditions with IP protection ratings up to IP68/IP69K and IK classes up to IK10. EX-protected luminaires are certified according to ATEX and IECEx for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
