Oostdam Metallhandels GmbH, based in Görlitz (Hagenwerder district), is a certified specialist waste management company pursuant to § 56 KrWG in conjunction with the Specialist Waste Management Companies Ordinance (Entsorgungsfachbetriebeverordnung). The company specializes in recycling iron and metal as well as scrap and metal trading. Its services include collecting and loading ferrous and non-ferrous scrap on construction sites, especially in the context of demolition work, operating a container service with skip and roll-off containers, and transports with trailer-trailer, hook-lift, skip-loader and semi-trailer vehicles. In addition, under its certificate the company is authorized to store, treat for recovery, recover, trade in and broker metal scrap. To improve waste management, the purchase of a Demarec DXS-50 scrap shear was subsidized by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). A second site is located in Boxberg/Oberlausitz.
