Opitz Packaging Systems GmbH (formerly Opitz Maschinentechnik GmbH) is a medium-sized, owner-managed company based in Kalefeld in southern Lower Saxony near Göttingen, led by Managing Director Beate Opitz. The company develops and manufactures fully and semi-automatic packaging machines for the end-of-line packaging process of shipping companies: boxes are erected fully automatically, securely sealed and reduced to the minimum necessary size by volume reducers. The product range includes water-activated tape systems, folding-box erectors, sealers and volume reducers, conveyor systems, palletizers, labeling solutions and complete packaging lines based on a modular system principle. The offering is complemented by machining, fixture construction as well as service and maintenance. For sealing, water-activated tape made from recycled material is used among other things, reducing material, shipping and personnel costs and cutting packaging waste. Customers come from industry, retail and logistics/e-commerce; the sales territory is international.
