About Orgelbau Mebold
Orgelbau Mebold is an organ-building workshop in Siegen-Breitenbach that has existed since 1976. The company builds new organs using traditional craftsmanship and natural materials, including self-supporting solid-timber cases in frame-and-panel construction in which windchests and action are structurally integrated with the case. A particular focus is the construction of chest and continuo organs, which are built in two transportable parts and feature a transposing device for 415, 440 and 465 Hz. In addition, the workshop restores historic instruments using hide-glue (hot glue) joints, hand-planed wooden surfaces and hand-worked metal pipes. The range of services also includes maintenance, tuning, renovation, conversions as well as loan instruments and transport cases for chest organs. Customers include churches and parishes, choirs and ensembles, music academies, theatres and philharmonic orchestras as well as private customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.
