About the Paderborn Brewery
Paderborner Brauerei Haus Cramer GmbH is a brewery in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, with a brewing tradition dating back to 1852. The company emerged around 1900 from the Hillemeyer brewery under the name Paderborner Actienbrauerei and, after several mergers and renamings, has operated as Paderborner Brauerei since 1965. Since 1990, the brewery has belonged to the Warsteiner Group. Beer is brewed in accordance with the German purity law using water, barley malt, hops and yeast; the product range includes Pilsner, Export, Hell (pale lager), non-alcoholic, Altbier, malt beer, Radler mixed drinks, lemonades as well as the regional specialty Liborius Dunkel. Since 2012, the beer has been brewed with wind energy; a wind turbine on the brewery's own site covers 45 percent of annual electricity requirements. The production site is located at Halberstädter Straße 45 in Paderborn. In 2026, the intention to sell the brewery was announced; otherwise, closure of the site by the end of 2026 threatens.
