About PEKU Folien

PEKU Folien GmbH is a medium-sized, owner-managed company in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz that has been producing PE films and bags for over 60 years. At its single site, film extrusion, 10-color flexographic printing, converting, cleanroom production and packaging logistics are all united under one roof. 15 coextrusion lines process film widths from 100 to 1,500 mm as mono- or multilayer film made mainly from LDPE and other PE raw materials. The portfolio includes flat films, machine films, half-tubular and tubular films as well as more than 15 converted bag types, ranging from resealable zipper bags and drawstring bags to wicket bags and pre-opened bags. Product lines cover material reduction (PEKULight), PIR and PCR recyclates (PEKUBlue, PEKUPCR), bio-based raw materials and home-compostable biofilms (PEKUGreen, PEKU Compost) as well as low-particle cleanroom films (PEKUWhite). Customers come from food, hygiene, cosmetics, medical, pharmaceutical, chemical, automotive, electronics, garden, pet supplies, wood, paper as well as industry and retail; deliveries are made throughout Europe.

Materials and Processes

LDPE

Low-density polyethylene (LDPE)

Main raw material for flat, half-tubular and tubular films as well as bag packaging.

PE

PE raw materials

Additional polyethylene for mono and coextrusion in 15 lines.

PIR

Post-industrial recyclate (PEKUBlue)

Cleanly sorted production waste from the in-house recycling plant, also usable for food-contact applications.

PCR

Post-consumer recyclate (PEKUPCR)

Externally purchased, certified recyclates for recyclable packaging.

BIO

Bio-based raw materials (PEKUGreen)

Films from renewable sources such as sugar cane.

COMPOST

Home-compostable biofilm (PEKU Compost)

Compostable packaging films as an alternative within the Greenline portfolio.

PEKULight

Down-gauged films

Up to 50% material savings with unchanged processing properties.

FLEXO

10-color flexographic printing

PEKUPrint Prime (112 lpi) and Full HD (up to 160 lpi) as an alternative to gravure and offset printing.
