Pfeuffer GmbH is a medium-sized family company from Kitzingen (Lower Franconia, Bavaria) and a manufacturer of sampling, measuring and laboratory instruments for the quality control of grain and seeds. The product portfolio includes moisture and temperature measuring devices, laboratory instruments such as seed counters, sorting machines and friabilimeters, as well as systems for sampling, sample dividing and sample preparation. The company develops and manufactures its products entirely in-house at the Kitzingen site, where development, production, administration and logistics are housed on around 4500 m². Customers include farmers, grain traders, cooperatives, mills, feed manufacturers, seed breeders as well as malt houses and breweries in more than 70 countries; the export share was over 60 percent in 2014. Quality management has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2001, and selected sampling and measuring equipment has complied with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU since 2003. Two photovoltaic systems cover around 50 percent of the annual electricity demand at the site.

Founded by milling engineer Franz Pfeuffer as a consulting and engineering office for mills in Tiefenstockheim (Lower Franconia); early inventions such as a dough volume testing device, rapid-drying cabinets and electrical hygrometers
