Phi-Stone AG, based in Kiel, is a technology-driven manufacturing company specializing in the production of tetrapodal zinc oxide (t-ZnO), a special structural form of zinc oxide with tetrapod-shaped particles. The material is produced in technical grade as well as for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications and is positioned, among other things, as an antimicrobial solution, for example as an alternative to colloidal nanosilver, whose use in cosmetics will be banned from November 2025 by EU Regulation 2024/858. In addition to manufacturing, the company offers product development, including custom hydrogel formulations in the private-label sector, as well as comprehensive consulting and support from the initial inquiry to the finished product. Sample orders allow customers to get started with the collaboration. Target industries are pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, healthcare and technical applications. Research and development projects are supported by funding from the European Union and the state government of Schleswig-Holstein; the company also presents itself at international trade fairs such as the World Health Expo in Dubai.
