About Piasten
Piasten GmbH is a long-established confectionery company headquartered in Forchheim in Upper Franconia. Founded in 1923 in Brieg/Lower Silesia and restarted in Forchheim in 1945, the company produces dragées, pralines and chocolate. As a family business, Piasten combines artisanal expertise with modern technology; since 2014 the company has been a subsidiary of Katjes International. With more than 430 employees, around 50 products are manufactured, including organic products under EC 834-2007 as well as vegan varieties of the Treets brand. The products are exported from Forchheim to over 50 countries worldwide. In addition to its own production, Piasten handles brand distribution for Treets THE PEANUT COMPANY.

Since 2013, Piasten has relied on UTZ-certified cocoa for better quality with respect for people and the environment.
RSPO-certified palm oil
Since 2014, only certified palm oil has been used.
Fairtrade chocolate
Since 2016, products have been made with Fairtrade chocolate.
Chocolate alternative made from sunflower seeds
For vegan Treets products such as Treets Crispy, the chocolate alternative ChoViva based on ground sunflower seeds is used.
