About PIEGA SA
PIEGA SA is a family-run loudspeaker manufactory founded in 1986, headquartered in Horgen on Lake Zurich. The company develops and manufactures high-end loudspeakers for stereo, home cinema and wireless streaming, including floorstanding, bookshelf and center speakers, subwoofers and wireless active loudspeakers. Its core competence is the in-house produced ribbon technology: coaxial mid-high frequency ribbons and line-source systems are created in around 30 manual work steps from wafer-thin aluminium and Upilex films (diaphragm thickness 20 µm), with flat coils etched out using the spray-mist etching process. The cabinets are made of extruded, seamless aluminium profiles; the drivers are powered by neodymium magnets. Since 1997 PIEGA has produced aluminium cabinets, and since 2018 Manuel Greiner and Alexander Bastian Greiner have led the company in the second generation. Through PIEGA Automotive SA in Pfäffikon SZ, the company also serves the automotive audio sector and exports to more than 40 countries.

Materials & Processes
Aluminium
Material used for wafer-thin ribbon diaphragms as well as extruded, seamless loudspeaker cabinets with high rigidity.
Upilex film
Ultra-thin plastic film that, together with aluminium foil, forms the 20 µm thick ribbon diaphragm.
Neodymium magnet
Highly compressed magnets at the front and rear of the diaphragm, enabling sensitivity levels above 100 dB.
Spray-mist etching process
Elaborate process for etching out the flat coils on the ribbon diaphragm.
Folding process of the aluminium foil
Manual special process in around 30 work steps for manufacturing coaxial ribbons.
