PIEPS GmbH, based in Lebring (Styria, Austria), develops, produces and distributes products for alpine safety, in particular avalanche transceivers (beacon devices), avalanche probes, avalanche shovels and avalanche airbag backpacks (JetForce). The company looks back on a history dating back to 1968; the GmbH was founded in 2006 and began its own production in 2013. The product range includes electronic transceivers on the standard frequency of 457 kHz with features such as the Interference Protection System (IPS), Bluetooth connectivity and firmware updates via the PIEPS App, probes made of aluminium and carbon, and shovels made of hardened aluminium. In addition, PIEPS offers a service portal with device checks, fleet management and warranty extension, as well as training courses with partners.
