The Pikatron Group
The Pikatron Group was founded in 1974 in Usingen in the Taunus region and, with around 500 employees, exclusively develops and manufactures custom electromagnetic components, devices and systems – from the component to the assembly to the complete system. The product range includes transformers (up to 1,000 kVA, high voltage up to 200 kV dielectric strength and pulse power up to 15 MW), chokes, transducers, transformers, EMC filters, frequency converters and power supplies. Manufacturing takes place in lean flow production (one-piece flow) with piece- and day-exact just-in-time production, including assembly and potting technologies, in-house tooling construction and control cabinet construction. Customers come from industries such as renewable energies, medical technology, mechanical and plant engineering, communications, safety and traffic engineering, measurement and control technology, defense technology as well as aviation and aerospace. The Group operates five sites in Germany (Usingen, Rasdorf, Haan, Lauchringen, Amt Creuzburg) and one foreign production facility in the Czech Republic (Písek); the sites are closely networked, which ensures a high level of resilience. In addition to development and manufacturing, testing, logistics, service, reengineering, obsolescence management and certification support (UL, VDE) are offered.
