The Pikatron Group – Power Electronics from a Single Source
Founded in 1974 in Usingen in the Taunus region, the Pikatron GmbH develops custom power electronics with around 500 employees at five sites in Germany and one foreign production facility in the Czech Republic. The product range includes electromagnetic components such as mains and high-voltage transformers, audio, signal and power transducers, EMC filters, chokes, electronic converters as well as motors, inverters and complete systems including control cabinet construction. Production is carried out as prototypes, small or large series according to the principle of lean flow manufacturing (one-piece flow) with computer-aided design and simulation. Materials used include copper and aluminium in the form of wire, stranded wire and foil, as well as ferrites, nickel-iron materials, amorphous and nanocrystalline metals. The group serves industries from renewable energies through medical and communications technology to aerospace, and delivers by the piece and on exact delivery dates, also via Kanban or just-in-time.
