About PINO
PINO develops and produces a universal, multifunctional kitchen machine with hand-crank drive. The device whips cream or beaten egg whites, kneads dough, grinds coffee and crushes oats – without electricity, powered solely by the strength of the hand. The hybrid construction combines the materials wood and steel; integrated are a three-stage gearbox (50 to 1,000 revolutions per minute), a 1-kg flywheel for smoothing out force peaks, and a bayonet connection for interchangeable attachments. PINO originated as a prototype of eco-social product design against the throwaway and fast-living culture and was brought to production maturity by the founders Manuel and Felix. The product uses local materials and as many upcycled components as possible in order to contribute to regional value creation and to integrate itself into the cycle of materials.
