About Plasser & Theurer
Plasser & Theurer is an Austrian mechanical engineering company headquartered in Vienna with its main plant in Linz/Donau, producing exclusively track construction and track maintenance machines. The family business, founded in 1953 by Franz Plasser and Josef Theurer, developed the world's first hydraulic tamping machine and today, as a full-range supplier, offers the entire machine spectrum for permanent way construction and maintenance: tamping machines, ballast distribution and regulating machines, track stabilizers, ballast bed cleaning machines, machines for new track and turnout construction, mobile rail processing (welding and grinding) as well as material conveying and silo units. Production takes place as series production at the main plant in Linz, complemented by Individual Design and Modular Customizing. Through its Life Cycle Services, the company offers retrofit, overhaul, general overhaul, ECM services and digital services such as PlasserFleetControl. By 2019, 16,500 machines had been delivered to 109 countries; today the company's machines are in operation in 110 countries.
